Black In HR Celebrates 10 Years of Community, Leadership, and Impact

ATLANTA, GA — This August, Black In HR will celebrate a milestone that reflects a decade of purpose, perseverance, and progress. What began as a vision to create a space where Black HR professionals could connect, learn, and thrive has grown into one of the largest and most influential HR communities dedicated to advancing Black talent across the profession.
Since its founding in 2016, Black In HR has served more than 20,000 HR professionals across North America, Europe, and Africa through professional development, networking, certifications, conferences, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. Along the way, the organization has helped members earn promotions, increase their salaries, transition into new careers, launch businesses, and build meaningful relationships that extend far beyond the workplace.
To commemorate the occasion, Black In HR will host its 10-Year Anniversary Black-Tie Gala this August in Atlanta, bringing together members, corporate partners, sponsors, executives, instructors, chapter leaders, and community supporters for an evening celebrating the organization's journey and the people who made it possible.
A Vision That Started With Community
When Black In HR was founded, the goal was simple but significant: create a community where Black HR professionals could learn from one another, find support, and build careers without navigating the profession alone.
Over the past decade, that vision has expanded into a national movement. Today, Black In HR offers industry-recognized certification programs, nationwide chapters, executive networking experiences, leadership development, HR compliance resources, career coaching, conferences, and partnerships with some of the world's leading organizations.
From intimate networking events to large-scale conferences, every initiative has remained focused on one mission: helping HR professionals grow while strengthening the organizations they serve.

Over the last ten years, Black In HR has celebrated countless member success stories.
Members have earned executive promotions, secured new opportunities through the community, launched consulting firms, completed professional certifications, and developed leadership skills that continue to shape workplaces around the world. The organization has also expanded its educational offerings through the Black In HR Academy, National Conferences providing certification bootcamps, live instruction, practical learning experiences, and partnerships with organizations including ADP, LegalShield, and Mineral.
Today, Black In HR continues to invest in the future of the HR profession by equipping leaders with practical skills in employee relations, artificial intelligence, compliance, workforce strategy, investigations, leadership development, and business partnership.

Powell reflected on the significance of the anniversary:
"Black In HR has never simply been about networking. It's about changing careers, opening doors, and creating opportunities that many of us wished we had earlier in our own journeys. Every promotion, every certification, every new business, and every relationship formed through this community reminds us why we started."
He also credited the organization's continued success to its members and partners.

The 10-Year Anniversary Gala will serve as both a celebration and a reflection of the community's remarkable journey over the last decade.
Guests will enjoy an elegant evening featuring networking, live entertainment, chef-created hors d'oeuvres, premium cocktails, special recognitions, and tributes honoring the individuals and organizations that have helped shape Black In HR into the thriving community it is today. While the evening celebrates ten years of accomplishments, it also marks the beginning of the organization's next chapter.
